Every minor on faithed must have a verified Faith Guardian - typically a parent or legal guardian - who receives safety alerts and activity summaries without having complete access to private messages or personal content.

To serve as a Faith Guardian, you must meet these requirements:
Your role as Faith Guardian is crucial. You're not spying on your child - you're creating a safety net that allows them to explore their faith, ask questions, and build community while being protected from those who would exploit their innocence or manipulate their spiritual development.
As a Faith Guardian, you have both rights and responsibilities to protect the minor in your care:
Receive immediate notifications when our AI detects potential grooming, manipulation, or exploitation in the minor's interactions.
Weekly overview of the minor's activity: who they're connecting with, what types of content they engage with, and community participation.
Ability to restrict messaging, pause account temporarily, or adjust privacy settings if concerns arise.
See who the minor is connecting with and approve/block adult connections outside their faith community.
Immediately lock account and review all recent activity if serious safety concerns emerge.
Platform-facilitated conversations with your child about digital safety, healthy boundaries, and faith questions.
Full Message Access: You cannot read all private messages. We provide risk indicators and flagged content, not complete surveillance.
Force Theological Views: You cannot use Guardian controls to force your child to accept specific theological positions or suppress sincere spiritual questions.
Punish Faith Exploration: Controls are for safety, not for preventing exposure to different Christian traditions or perspectives.
The verification process ensures only qualified individuals protect minors on faithed:
Sign up for faithed with your email and complete basic profile setup.
Upload government-issued ID (passport, driver's license) through our secure verification partner. Identity verified within 24-48 hours.
Submit documentation proving legal guardianship (birth certificate, custody agreement, adoption papers, etc.). All documents encrypted and securely stored.
Consent to comprehensive background screening. We check for criminal history related to child safety, exploitation, or abuse. Results within 3-5 business days.
Take our 30-minute Faith Guardian training covering: recognizing grooming behaviors, spiritual manipulation tactics, healthy boundary setting, and when to intervene.
Once approved, link your child's account (or create one for them) and activate Guardian protections. You'll receive a welcome packet with resources and support contacts.
