Our Core Principle
Allegiance to Jesus Christ Above All
faithed's moderation philosophy centers on one foundational truth: allegiance to Jesus Christ comes before all denominational, doctrinal, or theological divisions.
We moderate conduct and spiritual safety, NOT theological positions. Our goal is to protect people from exploitation and harm while celebrating the rich diversity of Christian thought and tradition.
This means we approach moderation with humility, recognizing that sincere believers can disagree on secondary matters while remaining unified in Christ (Romans 14:1-13).
What We Moderate
Our moderation efforts focus on protecting community members from harm, exploitation, and abuse:
✓ We Do Moderate
- Exploitation & Manipulation - "Seed faith" scams, false prophecies for profit, spiritual coercion
- False Authority Claims - Claiming divine authority to control others or extract resources
- Dehumanization & Hate - Content attacking people's inherent dignity or inciting hatred
- Harassment & Bullying - Targeted attacks, threats, or coordinated campaigns against individuals
- Fraud & Deception - Scams, impersonation, or misleading financial schemes
- Spiritual Abuse - Using Scripture or spiritual authority to justify psychological harm
- Safety Threats - Content that endangers physical or mental wellbeing
✓ We Don't Moderate
- Denominational Differences - Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Pentecostal perspectives
- Eschatological Views - Pre-trib, post-trib, amillennial, preterist positions
- Worship Styles - Traditional liturgy, contemporary praise, contemplative practices
- Theological Interpretations - Reformed, Arminian, Wesleyan, Charismatic theologies (when respectfully presented)
- Secondary Doctrines - Baptism methods, church government, spiritual gifts usage
- Cultural Expressions - How different cultures worship and express faith
⚠️ Critical Distinction
We welcome robust theological debate. What we don't allow is using theological disagreement as a cover for personal attacks, manipulation, or exploitation. You can disagree strongly with someone's theology while still treating them with Christian love and respect.
AI-Assisted Moderation System
faithed uses advanced AI technology to help identify potentially harmful content while maintaining human oversight for nuanced decisions:
How It Works
- Pattern Detection - AI scans for manipulative language patterns, exploitation indicators, and safety risks
- Risk Scoring - Content receives a risk score from 0-100 based on multiple factors
- Human Review - High-risk content (71-100) is automatically flagged for human moderator review
- Context Consideration - Moderators evaluate intent, context, and user history before taking action

Transparency Commitment
We believe in transparent moderation. Users can see their content's risk score in their dashboard and request manual review of any AI decision. Our AI is a tool to help us, not a replacement for human wisdom and discernment.
Enforcement Process
When potential violations are identified, we follow a structured, fair process:
1. Detection & Notice
Content flagged by AI or user report. User receives notice explaining the concern with specific examples.
2. Response Period
User has 48 hours to respond, provide context, or edit content. We want to hear your perspective.
3. Human Review
Trained moderator evaluates all evidence, considers intent and context, reviews user history.
4. Decision & Action
Proportionate action taken (warning, restriction, suspension, or no action). User notified with detailed explanation.
5. Appeal Option
Users can appeal decisions within 14 days. Different moderator reviews appeal fairly.
Our Commitment to Fairness
Every enforcement decision is made by a human being, not an algorithm. We consider context, intent, and the full picture. Our goal is restoration, not punishment (2 Corinthians 2:5-8).
Handling Theological Disputes
When theological disagreements are reported, our approach is guided by wisdom and grace:
We Ask:
- Is this a secondary doctrine? - If yes, both perspectives are welcome
- Is the discussion respectful? - Debate is fine; personal attacks are not
- Is anyone being manipulated or harmed? - Exploitation crosses the line
- Is core Christian orthodoxy being denied? - Heretical movements that reject the Trinity, Christ's divinity, or salvation by grace alone may be restricted
Example Scenarios
Allowed: "I believe in believer's baptism because..." vs. "I practice infant baptism because..." - Both positions respectfully presented.
Not Allowed: "Anyone who baptizes infants is a heretic and going to hell" - Personal attack disguised as theological position.
Not Allowed: "God told me you need to send me $1000 to receive breakthrough" - Spiritual manipulation for financial gain.
Moderation Team Standards
Our moderators are trained to uphold these values:
- Theological Humility - Recognize that sincere Christians disagree on many matters
- Cultural Sensitivity - Understand diverse expressions of Christian faith worldwide
- Bias Awareness - Actively work against personal theological biases
- Spiritual Discernment - Distinguish between disagreement and exploitation
- Restorative Heart - Seek to restore, not merely punish
Moderators come from diverse Christian backgrounds and are held accountable to these standards through regular audits and peer review.
Appeal Process
We believe in second chances and fair review. If you disagree with a moderation decision:
- Submit Appeal - Email [email protected] within 14 days with your case
- Include Evidence - Explain why the decision should be reconsidered, provide context
- Independent Review - A different moderator reviews your appeal with fresh eyes
- Final Decision - You'll receive a response within 5-7 business days with detailed reasoning
Appeals are taken seriously. We've overturned decisions when we've been wrong, and we're committed to getting it right.
Continuous Improvement
Our moderation approach is always evolving. We:
- Review and update policies quarterly
- Analyze trends in appeals and overturned decisions
- Seek feedback from diverse Christian communities
- Train moderators on emerging manipulation tactics
- Publish transparency reports twice yearly
"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."
James 1:5
